Nigel Farage: The Man Who Changed British Politics

At the age of 60 Mr Farage has declared himself up for another scrap.

Born 3 April 1964 Nigel is 59-years-old. Dulwich College did not attend university.

Nigel Paul Farage (born 3 April 1964) is a British politician and broadcaster who has been the leader of Reform UK since June 2024, having previously served as leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) from 2006 to 2009 and from 2010 to 2016. He was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for South East England from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2009 to 2017.

Farage was born in Farnborough, Kent, England, and was educated at Dulwich College. He did not attend university, and instead worked as a commodities broker before entering politics. Farage joined UKIP in 1993, and was elected to the European Parliament in 1999. He became leader of UKIP in 2006, and under his leadership the party's support increased significantly. In the 2014 European Parliament elections, UKIP won 27.5% of the vote, making it the largest party in the UK by vote share.

Farage was a prominent campaigner for Brexit in the 2016 referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union. He resigned as leader of UKIP in July 2016, following the referendum result, and established a new political party, Leave Means Leave, which later became Reform UK.
