White House Chief of Staff's Daughter Marries in Atlanta Amid Pandemic

Event Defies State Guidance

Haley Meadows Kocher, daughter of White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, married her husband Ian Kocher in Atlanta, Georgia on May 31, 2020, despite local officials' guidance against large gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The wedding ceremony and reception were held indoors at the St. Regis Atlanta hotel, with approximately 70 guests in attendance. According to reports, the majority of guests were not wearing masks.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms had previously issued an executive order limiting gatherings to no more than 10 people. The order also required face coverings in public places.

A spokesperson for the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
